Underground wastewater piping systems in Finnish buildings constructed between 1950 and 1995 are predominantly made of cast iron (Valurauta) or early PVC. Over decades of service, cast iron corrodes into rough tubercular rust flakes, capturing solid wastes, grease, and sanitary products until full drainage stoppage occurs.

Before any invasive excavation is considered, Gridsbrowselb performs high-definition CCTV video inspections. Our fiber-optic push-rod cameras and steerable robotic crawlers navigate pipes from DN 50 mm up to DN 600 mm, recording continuous 4K video footage and capturing high-resolution still images of every fracture, joint offset, and root infiltration.

512Hz Sonde Electromagnetic Depth Mapping

Our camera heads are fitted with precision 512Hz electromagnetic transmitters (Sondes). Above ground, our technicians track the receiver signal to determine the exact 3D underground path and depth of the sewer conduit (accurate to within 2 cm). This eliminates guesswork and prevents unnecessary destruction of yard asphalt or interior floor tiles.

Rotational Hydro-Milling & Chain Knocking (Ketjujyrsintä)

When drains suffer from severe mineral scaling, concrete slurry runoff, or aggressive tree root intrusion, standard plunger or snake methods fail within days. We deploy high-speed electric and hydraulic milling rigs:

• Carbide-Tipped Chain Knockers: Rotate at up to 2,500 RPM, smoothing cast iron inner walls back to their original diameter without piercing the outer pipe shell.
• High-Pressure Hot Water Jetting (Painehuuhtelu): 300-bar rotational nozzle heads blast heated water (60°C) through the line, completely scouring hardened grease, soap scums, and sediment.
